Our Safes
CSI utilizes the GLOBAL PLUS safe sold and distributed by the Global Safe Corporation. This is an industry standard hotel-style safe manufactured with an all-steel frame and an electrostatic powder coat paint finish in black or white.
Standard Features
- The safes exterior dimensions are Height – 8.00” , Width – 19.5”, Depth – 15.75”.
- The safes interior dimensions are Height – 7.50” , Width – 19.0”, Depth – 15.25”.
- It will easily accommodate a standard 17-inch laptop computer.
- The safe weighs 35 pounds.
- The safes are not fire rated.
- The GLOBAL PLUS safe is ADA compliance and requires a minimum of 4-digit user PIN. It is not hardwired and is UL anti-theft listed. The safe supports remote unlocking with a random code that is different for all safes and allows for an audit trail of updates, changes, etc.

Step by Step - How it Works:
- CSI installs safes in your residential dorms and programs the safes for rental use.
- When students sign up for their dorms, a safe will be provided on a rental basis for each student.
- The responsible party signing off on the housing form agrees to the rental fee (or opts out if the university would like to make this an option).
- The university collects the rental fee as part of the housing fee.
- The school retains an administrative fee.
- The university provides CSI with the email addresses of the students renting safes.
- CSI sends safe registration information via email to all students who have rented a safe.
- Once students arrive in their room, they go online to register their safe with the information provided in the email they received.
- The safe is now activated and ready for use.
- CSI maintains a 24-hour customer service call center to assist students with their safes.
